I'm ducking the tomatoes!!!!!!!!!!

This morning I received two comments from my very respected friends asking why I do not like Fanny Thornton in North and South.  Let me just say that I find her excessively annoying.  At the part where the investment that her brother John refused to take a part in actually turned out very well, she was boasting to his face.
"I was right and John was wrong!"  I'm sorry, all of you Fanny fans, but I just couldn't stand her after that.  Before she had been tolerable, even funny at parts, but after that it just went downhill.  SO....that line is why I don't like Fanny Thornton.
I hope that the explanation is acceptable to you, and thanks for reading.

  1. My dear, you are completely forgiven, but I assure you that I will always remain of fan of Fanny Thornton. Not a devoted fan, mind you, but still a fan nonetheless. Thank you very much for your explanation and I do see why you wouldn't like her- she does enjoy rubbing her advice and triumph in other people's faces. How uncivil of her! :) But unfortunately, I have developed a liking to comical characters (even the annoying ones like Mrs. Elton or Miss Bates). :) I will end there. Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  3. I like Fanny well enough. She annoys me something horrible but I like her.
Her "I thought they were going to come in and kill us all!" was so funny, though!
Thank you for joining my blog and awarding me!! :P

  4. I agree with Abilaine and Beth Grace--while I don't necessarily LIKE Fanny as a character, I still do find her excessively diverting! "John is such a stick-in-the-mud..." she's hilarious!

  5. Typical little sister. "I was right and you were wrong, so admit it!" (Not that I would know as I am neither a little sister nor have one, but I've seen plenty. She is one of the characters I like to dislike. One I want to hurl something at her head. She's up there with Henry Lennox for me. Only, she is, rotten. So maybe he is slightly higher....PLEASE don't tell him I said that!

  6. Your explanation about Fanny Thornton was quite acceptable. She is excessively annoying and hilariously comical at the same time... if that is possible.

Thanks for your comments! I love comments! Thrive on them, actually! Please just remember to keep them clean. I don't care if you make them long. The longer, the better, in fact! I really appreciate it when you take the time to tell me what you think.
